Paralegal / Legal Assistant – Family Law (Part‑time, Melbourne)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our Family Law team in Melbourne on a part‑time, on‑site basis. You will work closely with experienced solicitors, providing essential support in case preparation and client interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings, affidavits and correspondence.
• Conduct legal research and gather relevant case law and statutes.
• Review and organise case files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
• Assist attorneys with client communications and appointment scheduling.
• Maintain and update records, manage administrative tasks and support the day‑to‑day operations of the family law practice.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in a legal office or a strong willingness to learn.
• Solid foundation in law, preferably with exposure to family law or legal aid processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and maintain confidentiality.
