Occupational Therapist (Paediatrics)

About the role

Ability Action Australia, a national therapy services provider working with NDIS participants, is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapist in Melbourne. The role covers a wide range of work, from paediatric play-based sessions that help children develop motor skills to assessing and recommending environmental modifications such as assistive technology or home changes to improve accessibility.

Key responsibilities

• Assess participants' emotional, psychological, cognitive, developmental and physical level of function and their capacity to perform ADLs and IADLs
• Interpret findings to formulate treatment goals
• Take part in professional development and receive formal 1:1 supervision
• Join group supervision and disability-specific workshops
• Work with a multidisciplinary team of speech pathologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists and allied health professionals

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist (graduates eligible for registration are also considered)
• Experience in paediatrics
• A passion for collaboration in a multidisciplinary team and a genuine interest in improving the lives of people living with a disability
