Occupational Therapist

About the role

IPAR, a national occupational rehabilitation provider within the MedHealth network, is hiring an Occupational Therapist in Melbourne. You will support injured or ill workers in regaining functional capacity and independence with their daily living activities (ADLs) within the home and community, collaborating with clients, employers, medical professionals and insurers to deliver evidence-based, goal-oriented interventions. Casual hours are offered based on availability, up to full-time casual.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive ADL assessments to evaluate functional abilities and support needs and promote independence.
• Liaise with employers, case managers, medical professionals and insurers to share clinical updates and align rehabilitation goals.
• Recommend equipment, home modifications or support services, and identify suitable providers, including attending equipment trials where indicated.
• Prepare timely reports outlining findings, recommendations and clinical reasoning.
• Educate clients and families on adaptive strategies, energy conservation and safe task performance.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and uphold professional, legal and ethical standards of practice.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement, attend team meetings and pursue professional development.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy.
• Full professional registration with AHPR.
• Previous experience in occupational rehabilitation is highly regarded.
• Good communication, compassion, empathy and time management skills.
• Current driver's licence and access to a car with comprehensive insurance.
