Night Manager

About the role

Novotel Devonport is looking for an energetic Night Manager to lead the hotel’s overnight operations. You will be the primary point of contact for guests between 10 pm and 6 am, ensuring safety, service excellence, and smooth hand‑over to the day team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all hotel functions during the night shift, including check‑ins, check‑outs, and guest enquiries.
• Manage daily financial reconciliation, prepare reports and statistical data in line with audit procedures.
• Maintain security of guests, staff and property; respond to emergencies and incidents calmly.
• Coach and mentor the night team, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Coordinate with other departments to guarantee seamless operations for the following day.
• Assist with valet parking and uphold cleanliness standards in public areas.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of night audit or supervisory experience in the hotel industry.
• Proven leadership ability with strong problem‑solving and independent decision‑making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, guest‑focused mindset.
• Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays.
• Current RSA certificate, First Aid certification (or ability to obtain), and a valid full Tasmanian driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Opera Cloud PMS (or similar property management systems).
