About the role
The National Sales Manager will shape and execute the nationwide sales strategy for a premium global OEM that manufactures industrial batteries and energy‑storage solutions in Australia. Reporting to senior leadership, the role is responsible for profitable growth, strategic customer partnerships and value‑based selling across multiple high‑growth sectors.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement a national sales plan aligned with corporate growth targets, delivering revenue, margin and market‑share objectives.
- Identify and pursue opportunities in emerging markets such as renewable‑energy integration, automation and standby power.
- Lead, coach and expand a high‑performing national sales team, establishing KPIs for revenue, gross margin, pipeline and customer retention.
- Manage top‑tier national accounts and OEM partners, negotiating long‑term supply and service contracts (3‑7+ years).
- Own the national P&L contribution of the sales function, set pricing strategy and govern discounting to protect margins.
- Drive aftermarket revenue through maintenance, replacement cycles and fleet‑management services.
- Collaborate with Australian manufacturing, operations and supply‑chain teams to align demand forecasting with production planning.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading national sales organisations in industrial or energy‑storage sectors.
- Track record of achieving revenue, margin and market‑share targets in complex B2B environments.
- Strong background in managing large‑scale tenders, long‑term contracts and strategic customer relationships.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally with manufacturing, supply‑chain and engineering teams.
- Excellent commercial acumen with experience in pricing strategy and P&L ownership.
