Media Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Media Manager to join Australia Post’s Media and PR team. The role is responsible for protecting and enhancing the organisation’s reputation by managing media enquiries, shaping corporate messages and delivering high‑impact announcements across the enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to reactive media enquiries and develop timely positions for senior leaders.
• Identify and mitigate reputational risks, acting as a spokesperson when required.
• Collaborate with business units to create and implement the corporate media strategy for major announcements.
• Support the Senior Media Manager in maintaining relationships with external media outlets and industry bodies.
• Lead or contribute to corporation‑wide projects, campaigns, tools and communication channels.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of corporate media relations experience in a large, complex organisation.
• Proven track record in reactive media handling and issues management, including acting as a company spokesperson.
• Strong understanding of diverse media channels, techniques and measurement approaches.
• Excellent written communication, interpersonal and advisory skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
• Curiosity about current news, community expectations and a commitment to best‑practice communications.
