Mechanical Quality Inspector

About the role

The Mechanical Quality Inspector ensures that all mechanical construction and installation activities on the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant project meet the required quality standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. Working on‑site in Perth, the role involves performing inspections, testing components, and supporting quality‑assurance processes throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed inspections and tests of mechanical works, reviewing materials and workmanship for compliance.
• Document inspection results, identify non‑conformances and report them to the engineering team.
• Verify that mechanical systems and components adhere to applicable standards, regulations and project specifications.
• Collaborate with site teams, engineers and contractors to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of quality‑assurance procedures across the project.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical inspection or quality control within construction or infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with relevant mechanical standards and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and inspection reports.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document findings accurately.
