Mechanical Engineer Design Internship

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Design Intern to support its Mechatronics Design Engineering team. You will assist in the design, testing, and development of integrated mechanical, electrical, and software systems that contribute to innovative eye‑care products.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in mechatronics engineering tasks, including design, testing, and development of integrated systems.
• Work closely with engineers to analyse system performance, refine designs, and troubleshoot issues.
• Apply engineering principles to improve automation and intelligent systems.
• Follow GxP regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) rigorously.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure rigorous quality control.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Engineering, Mechanical Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Full Australian work rights.
