Mechanical Design Engineer – Bulk Materials Handling (Gold Coast)

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Gold Coast team, focusing on bulk materials handling equipment and product development. This position offers the chance to move beyond routine drafting and contribute to real engineering projects within a respected, multi-generational engineering business.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop bulk handling equipment.
• Create 3D models using Autodesk Inventor.
• Prepare detailed engineering documentation and fabrication drawings.
• Support new product development initiatives.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and operations teams.
• Assist project delivery from concept through production.
• Drive continuous improvement and solve engineering problems.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified Mechanical Engineer with full Australian working rights.
• 3+ years experience in bulk materials handling, conveyors, mining or heavy industry.
• Proven experience in mechanical design and 3D CAD systems.
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and a practical mindset.
• Motivated to grow within a stable, long‑term engineering environment.
