Manager, Clinical Operations

About the role

ICON is a global healthcare intelligence and clinical research organisation. As Manager, Clinical Operations in Sydney (hybrid office-based), you will oversee the execution of clinical trials so that they run efficiently, on time and in compliance with regulatory requirements. The role focuses on coordinating clinical operations delivery, resolving issues and developing team capability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the operational planning and execution of clinical trials, ensuring adherence to protocols and timelines.
• Work with cross-functional teams to optimise trial design and improve operational efficiency throughout clinical development.
• Monitor trial progress and performance metrics, giving insights that inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor and develop junior staff and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline or healthcare-related field.
• Extensive experience managing clinical operations, with a solid understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and develop a team.
• Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.
• Legal right to work in the country where the role is based.
