Legal Officer

About the role

The NSW Early Learning Commission is seeking a Legal Officer to provide high‑level legal services, advocacy and advice to senior management, staff and external stakeholders. This role supports the Commission’s regulatory functions across the early childhood education and care sector in New South Wales.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice on the development and implementation of standards, policies, procedures and systems.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts, policies, court documents and briefing materials.
• Represent or coordinate representation for the Commission before courts and tribunals.
• Supervise and mentor legal staff to build capability and professional growth.
• Deliver legal training and support capability uplift for internal and external stakeholders.
