About the role

The School of Social Work and Social Care at Adelaide University seeks a Lecturer (Level B) to join its vibrant academic team. This fixed‑term position, running until June 2027, focuses on teaching, research, and community engagement in contemporary social work practice, especially with children and families.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, using both traditional and innovative delivery methods.
• Develop and lead research projects that address real‑world social issues and contribute to scholarly impact.
• Engage with community partners to enhance student learning and promote socially responsive outcomes.
• Participate in departmental governance, curriculum development, and academic service activities.

Required profile

• PhD in a social sciences discipline relevant to social work or human services.
• Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
• Demonstrated expertise in contemporary social work practice with a focus on children and families.
• Commitment to a robust research agenda aligned with the School’s priorities.

Required skills

• Experience in designing and delivering curriculum for higher education.
