Lead Transmission Line Engineer

About the role

Join Aurecon's Energy business in Perth to support the decarbonisation of Western Australia’s resource and utility energy systems. As a Lead Transmission Line Engineer you will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver network planning and connection solutions for renewable generation, energy storage, islanded grids and high‑voltage transmission networks.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on planning and connection of renewable power generation, energy storage and transmission‑level networks.
• Collaborate with Australia’s largest community of grid‑scale renewable and storage specialists, as well as mining rail and fleet decarbonisation experts.
• Provide high‑quality, timely technical advice on power generation asset operation and development.
• Lead innovative projects in energy storage and inverter‑based generation markets.
• Support cross‑geography and cross‑market projects, applying creativity to complex technical challenges.

Required profile

• Degree qualified with post‑graduation experience in transmission and distribution (consultant, developer, owner or contractor).
• Experience planning and designing transmission and distribution assets at 33 kV level and above.
• Rail electrification or mining fleet electrification experience is an advantage.
• Familiarity with NWIS or SWIS power systems is a plus.
• Previous consultancy experience with direct client engagement is desirable.
• Practical site experience is valued.
