About the role
This position is for an Associate or Senior Associate to join a highly regarded Professional & Financial Risks Litigation team in Sydney CBD. You will work on a diverse portfolio of insurance litigation matters, including professional indemnity, public and product liability, financial risks, strata claims, construction disputes and sports & leisure liability. The role offers direct client contact, strategic involvement and strong mentorship from senior practitioners.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and assist on a broad range of insurance litigation matters.
- Advise insurers, corporate clients and professionals on liability and risk issues.
- Draft pleadings, court documents, legal advice and correspondence.
- Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice.
- Attend mediations, settlement conferences and court appearances.
- Maintain stakeholder relationships and client communications.
- Collaborate with senior practitioners on complex litigation matters.
- Contribute to business development and client relationship initiatives.
Required profile
- Minimum 4 years post‑admission experience in insurance or commercial litigation.
- Experience in public liability, product liability and/or professional indemnity matters.
- Strong technical legal skills and litigation experience.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and analytical abilities.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Interest in strata, construction, sports and leisure sectors.
- Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Proactive, client‑focused approach and ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
