Knowledge Specialist – Fixed Term

About the role

Datacom is seeking a Knowledge Specialist on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract to manage and enhance a functional area knowledge base. You will create, edit and maintain high‑quality technical documentation for internal teams and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the internal knowledge base, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
• Write, edit and refine manuals, online help, installation guides and quick reference materials.
• Review contributions from Development Specialists to produce consistent support documentation.
• Develop and maintain information architecture, taxonomy and user permissions.
• Identify and automate repetitive tasks using Datacom knowledge‑management frameworks.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in technical writing or knowledge management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology or related field.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain a Government security clearance.

Required skills

• Advanced technical writing and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of ITIL methodologies (nice to have).
• Experience with AWS services (Lambda, CloudFormation, etc.) and certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) – optional.
• Familiarity with Node.js, Python, Git/Bitbucket/CodeCommit, Docker, Puppet, SQL, Jenkins, serverless technologies.
