Key Account Manager – Business Development

About the role

The Key Account Manager – Business Development will be based in Malaga, WA and will drive new business growth for Cleanaway by delivering tailored waste‑management solutions to mid‑market customers. You will be responsible for meeting sales budgets, targets and KPIs while aligning with Cleanaway’s Sales Growth Strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the ‘Grow’ and ‘Retain’ pillars of the sales strategy to achieve profitable revenue growth.
• Develop strategic relationships with customers and industry participants to expand share‑of‑wallet opportunities.
• Monitor competitor activity and maintain up‑to‑date information in Salesforce.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on opportunity pipelines, market intelligence and competitor insights.
• Maintain and grow the sales pipeline through tender responses, quotes and contract negotiations.
• Apply price increases and contract terms as agreed.

Required profile

• Proven success in commercial or industrial B2B sales environments.
• Demonstrated ability to drive organic new business growth.
• Strong customer service and stakeholder management experience in large, complex organisations.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Effective verbal and written communication, including tender preparation and presentation.
• Sound commercial acumen with experience leveraging volume and pricing for profitable outcomes.
• Ability to manage multiple internal and external stakeholders.
