Investigations Officer / Senior Investigations Officer

About the role

We are seeking an Investigations Officer (or Senior Investigations Officer) to join RevenueWA, the revenue collection arm of the Department of Treasury and Finance. The role involves conducting audits and investigations to ensure compliance with state revenue legislation and providing guidance to taxpayers and grant recipients.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute audits and investigations across duties, land tax and payroll tax matters.
• Assess compliance with RevenueWA legislation and identify breaches.
• Provide clear guidance to taxpayers, grant recipients and their representatives on compliance requirements.
• Prepare detailed investigation reports and recommendations for further action.
• Support the development and improvement of revenue‑related legislation and policies.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience conducting audits or investigations in a government or revenue context.
• Strong knowledge of RevenueWA legislation, including duties, land tax and payroll tax.
• Ability to communicate complex compliance information clearly to a range of stakeholders.
• Proven report‑writing skills with attention to detail.
