Generalist Teacher – Remote Aboriginal Schools (WA)

About the role

The Ngaanyatjarra Lands School (NLS) is seeking Generalist Teachers for early childhood, primary and secondary levels across its seven remote campuses in the Western Desert of Western Australia. These full‑time, fixed‑term positions support Aboriginal students by delivering culturally responsive education that aligns with the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver curriculum for Kindergarten to Year 12, adapting content to local cultural contexts.
• Collaborate with cross‑cultural teaching teams and senior Aboriginal school leaders.
• Participate in on‑site induction and ongoing professional development.
• Provide supportive learning environments that foster student wellbeing and academic progress.
• Engage with families and community members to ensure education reflects student aspirations.

Required profile

• Demonstrated understanding of cross‑cultural education and Aboriginal cultural frameworks.
• Personable, resilient and able to work flexibly across isolated campuses.
• Capacity to work independently, use initiative, and maintain professional relationships within a team‑oriented setting.
