Executive Director, Regional Implementation

About the role

The Executive Director, Regional Implementation leads the delivery of government programs across four Queensland regions, ensuring outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are consistent, high‑quality, and aligned with strategic priorities. This senior position reports to the Deputy Director‑General of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee implementation across multiple regional offices, translating policy into measurable outcomes.
• Establish performance and reporting rhythms, manage risk, and intervene decisively when issues arise.
• Engage directly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, senior executives, Ministers, and cross‑government partners.
• Provide clear, evidence‑based advice while balancing local responsiveness with statewide consistency.
• Lead organisational uplift, strengthening operating models, workforce capability, governance and implementation practices.

Required profile

• Proven senior executive experience leading large, geographically dispersed workforces.
• Strong operational governance, performance management and risk capability.
• Ability to translate policy and strategy into disciplined, measurable implementation.
• Confidence to intervene decisively on delivery, risk or performance issues.
• Credibility with Ministers, senior executives and sector partners.
