Employment Lawyer – Associate to Senior Associate (Sydney)

About the role

We are seeking an Employment Lawyer to join a leading global law firm’s Workplace Relations & Employment team in Sydney. The position is open to candidates from Associate to Senior Associate level, offering exposure to both contentious and non‑contentious matters across a broad client base.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on employment contracts, executive agreements and workplace policies.
• Conduct workplace investigations, manage misconduct matters and handle performance‑management processes.
• Lead termination, restructuring, redundancy and enterprise agreement projects.
• Provide counsel on employment aspects of mergers, acquisitions and other corporate transactions.
• Represent clients in employment litigation, Fair Work disputes and settlement negotiations.
• Support regulatory compliance and workplace risk‑management initiatives.

Required profile

• Associate level: 1–4 years post‑admission experience in employment, workplace or industrial relations.
• Senior Associate level: 4+ years post‑admission experience with a strong advisory and disputes background.
• Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and mentor junior lawyers.
• Excellent academic record and strong drafting/analytical capabilities.
