Electronics Design Engineer

About the role

A multidisciplinary product development consultancy, working with start-ups through to global businesses, is looking for an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to join its Sydney team. The role covers the full product lifecycle, from concept and proof of principle through to commercialisation and production, within a team of Industrial Designers, Mechanical Engineers and Product Development Specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Electronic system architecture and design
• Schematic capture and PCB design
• Embedded hardware development
• Prototype development, testing and validation
• Design for Manufacture (DFM)
• Product verification and troubleshooting
• Compliance and regulatory considerations
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and liaise with manufacturing and supply chain partners

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in electronic or electrical engineering or equivalent
• Experience developing commercially manufactured electronic products
• Experience taking products from concept through to production
• Full, unrestricted and ongoing rights to work in Australia

Required skills

• Strong PCB design experience, ideally with Altium Designer
• Solid understanding of analogue and digital electronics
• Embedded systems and microcontroller experience
• Hands-on prototyping, testing and debugging
• Problem-solving, analytical and communication skills

Preferred: medical or consumer device experience, defence/aerospace or high-reliability electronics, large power supplies, IoT/wireless or battery/EV exposure, and regulatory compliance knowledge.
