About the role
Hume City Council is seeking an Early Years Practice Coach to join its Early Years Pedagogy team on a fixed‑term basis. You will work closely with early childhood services to enhance the quality of education programs and support the delivery of School Readiness Funding outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Build sustained relationships with early years teams to drive continuous improvement and best practice.
- Use coaching strategies to support individuals, teams and services in implementing evidence‑based pedagogy and inclusion approaches.
- Operate within council policies, procedures and School Readiness Funding regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities to extend community resources and practice change aligned with funding objectives.
- Apply the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) and the eight practice principles to facilitate reflective practice.
- Maintain working knowledge of the National Quality Framework and stay current with early childhood research.
- Provide accurate, meaningful feedback and support critical reflection to improve outcomes for children and families.
Required profile
- Understanding of early childhood governance policies, including the Early Childhood Australia Code of Ethics, UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and related regulations.
- Experience with the Early Years Learning Framework and the VEYLDF.
- Demonstrated ability to coach educators and facilitate practice change.

What we offer
- Fixed‑term contract (8 months) with the possibility of extension.
- Salary pro‑rated $97,742 – $122,224 per annum plus superannuation.
