Duty Engineer – Aircraft Maintenance (Sydney)

About the role

The Duty Engineer will lead aircraft maintenance operations at Qatar Airways' Sydney base, ensuring optimal fleet performance and compliance with safety standards. You will work closely with mechanics, the Maintenance Operations Control Centre, and other stakeholders to deliver high‑quality line maintenance services.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance tasks, meeting quality and productivity targets.
• Plan and allocate manpower, tools, and materials for complex maintenance activities.
• Oversee audit supervision, communicate with all Qatar Airways parties at the station, and manage shift handovers.
• Release completed work, ensuring compliance with dispatch reliability and defect deferral standards.
• Monitor Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) requirements and maintain serviceable equipment.
• Provide AOG support, travel for aircraft recovery, and execute line‑maintenance contracts for partner airlines.

Required profile

• Relevant college or university qualification in aviation engineering or related field.
• Minimum two full‑fleet EASA/ICAO/QCAA licences and approvals for Qatar Airways aircraft types.
• Licensed engineer authorized to work on foreign carrier aircraft.
• Experience with EASA Part‑66 aircraft maintenance certification.
