Distribution Design Engineer

About the role

CitiPower and Powercor supply electricity to 1.3 million Victorian customers and are looking for Distribution Design Engineers to join its Urban Underground, Overhead and Substation Design Team. Multiple opportunities are available across the business, and the role covers scoping, design, estimating, asset recording and technical advisory for distribution network projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver safe, compliant and cost-effective network infrastructure for overhead, underground and substation assets
• Support project delivery and continuous improvement with construction support, technical guidance and input into engineering standards and practices
• Manage design of projects of varying complexity within agreed time, quality and cost constraints
• Support and implement new or modified processes and systems
• Mentor design personnel in design and design management
• Keep up to date with GIS, line design, AutoCAD/Revit and other design and asset recording tools

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical)
• Eligible and working towards registration with the Business Licensing Authority (BLA)
• Eligible and working towards National Engineering Registration (NER) or Registered Professional Engineer of Professional Australia (RPEng)
• Detailed knowledge of overhead, underground and substation design, and optic fibre design
• Knowledge of line design, electrical networks, operation and construction plans
• Understanding of safety in design practices
