Director of IT & AI

About the role

Emesent is seeking a commercially‑minded Director of IT & AI to own the end‑to‑end technology function that powers our autonomous robotics and spatial data platforms. Reporting to the EVP Product & Engineering, you will shape IT strategy, drive AI enablement, and ensure a secure, scalable, and future‑ready environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a multi‑year IT strategy aligned with business growth.
• Lead and grow a high‑performing IT team, making insourcing vs outsourcing decisions.
• Oversee corporate infrastructure, networks, Wi‑Fi, SaaS platforms, VM compute clusters, and Microsoft/Linux environments.
• Drive disaster recovery, business continuity, and identity & access management initiatives.
• Define and enforce the AI Governance Framework, supporting rollout of AI tools such as Claude Code.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, HR, Finance, and Executive leadership to align technology with operational priorities.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience leading IT functions in a fast‑growing technology company.
• Commercial mindset with ability to balance scalability, sovereignty, and security.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
