DevOps Engineer – Hybrid

About the role

As a DevOps Engineer at Datacom you will design, build and maintain automated, highly available solutions for customer‑facing systems. The role is hybrid, with three days onsite in an Australian office and two days remote, and you will work within an Agile team alongside global technical specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain operational excellence through automation of OS deployment, configuration and security hardening.
• Install and configure application middleware platforms.
• Deploy workloads to VMware and VMware Cloud on AWS.
• Manage code deployment and platform lifecycle.
• Produce reporting for audit and compliance requirements.
• Ensure platform high availability via reliable change and release processes.
• Engage with customers through technical collaboration and solution design.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with open‑source and VMware automation tools.
• Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts.
• Proven experience with full‑stack automation, CI/CD pipelines, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to research, develop and promote platform‑agnostic solutions.
• Australian citizenship and eligibility for NV1 security clearance.
