Design Drafter - Primary

About the role

CPP, a high-voltage infrastructure provider and member of Quanta Services, is hiring a Design Drafter - Primary in Brisbane. You will prepare accurate, high-quality primary design drawings and documentation for projects such as substations, grid connections, wind farms and battery energy storage systems, working alongside engineers, designers and Project Managers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, high-quality primary design drawings and documentation.
• Help resolve technical queries and deliver safe, compliant and constructible design outcomes in line with relevant standards and project deadlines.
• Work alongside experienced engineers, designers and Project Managers.
• Gain exposure to CPP's growing 3D modelling and BIM capability as client and project needs evolve.

Required profile

• Relevant electrical, substation or primary design drafting experience.
• Exposure to substations, renewable energy or comparable electrical infrastructure.
• Ability to understand design intent and produce practical design outputs.
• Knowledge of primary design drafting principles and fundamental electrical concepts.
• Strong attention to detail, good communication, organisation and prioritisation skills, and a willingness to keep learning.

Required skills

• AutoCAD and/or MicroStation capability.
• Experience with Revit, 3D modelling or BIM workflows is highly regarded but not essential; AutoCAD candidates can develop MicroStation and 3D capability on the job.
