Data Analyst (Hybrid, Sydney)

About the role

We are looking for a Data Analyst to turn raw data into clear, actionable insights across multiple business units. You will write SQL queries, build Python scripts, and deliver reports that help teams make informed decisions. The position is hybrid, based in Sydney, with two days per week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Write, optimise, and maintain SQL queries to extract data from relational databases.
• Build and run Python scripts to process, clean, and analyse datasets for specific business requests.
• Produce regular and ad‑hoc reports for stakeholders across multiple business units.
• Partner with teams to understand reporting needs and translate business questions into data requirements.
• Validate data accuracy and investigate discrepancies.
• Document queries, processes, and findings for future use.
• Balance competing priorities and requests from different stakeholder groups.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience with solid hands‑on SQL (joins, aggregations, window functions, subqueries).
• Proficiency in Python for data work, including pandas, basic scripting, and handling APIs or CSV/Excel data.
• Experience producing reports for business stakeholders, gathering requirements and presenting findings.
• Comfortable working across multiple business units or domains.
• Some exposure to SaaS environments.
