Cyber & Data Engineer – Defence Cyber Security Specialist

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Cyber & Data Engineer to lead cyber security initiatives for Defence capability solutions. The role involves developing cyber security management plans, strategies, and accreditation documentation while ensuring compliance with Defence security requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and analyse cyber security requirements, policies, standards and architecture guidance for capability solutions.
• Support cyber security activities with Defence, DDG, ASD, LNIC, industry, OEM and FMS stakeholders.
• Assess designs, architectures and interfaces against Defence cyber security requirements and controls.
• Develop and maintain Cyber Certification and Accreditation Plans for capability approval.
• Conduct comparative assessments of cyber security solutions, risk analyses and opportunity identification.
• Evaluate cyber security implications for tactical data links, SATCOM, battle management, C2 systems and enterprise network connectivity.
• Provide specialist advice on cyber governance, system security engineering, secure‑by‑design implementation and compliance.

Required profile

• Minimum NV1 security clearance with ability to obtain NV2 (NV2 preferred).
• At least 6 years of relevant experience, preferably within Defence and complex acquisition projects.
• Willingness to work onsite at Brindabella Business Park five days a week.
