Community and Communications Lead

About the role

An affiliated new venture in the AI infrastructure sector is recruiting a Community and Communications Lead, based in Albury or Sydney on a hybrid basis. The business is an infrastructure investment and development company focused on supporting the next generation of AI compute in Australia, and the role protects the company's reputation, supports project approvals and ensures developments deliver meaningful local benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Lead community engagement and communications strategies across the venture's development portfolio
• Build trusted relationships with local communities, councils, government, industry and media stakeholders
• Drive community consultation and communications to support planning approvals, project development and construction
• Shape communications, from media releases and project updates to stakeholder presentations and community initiatives
• Advise leadership on stakeholder sentiment, emerging issues and reputational risks

Required profile

• Senior experience in communications, corporate affairs, stakeholder engagement or community relations, ideally in infrastructure, energy or property development
• Proven track record delivering community consultation and stakeholder engagement programs for major projects and planning approvals
• A relevant degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Public Policy or a related field

• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, able to turn complex information into clear messages
• Strong strategic thinking, sound judgement and the confidence to handle sensitive issues in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
