Casual Lighting Technician

About the role

Crown Live Theatre is looking for experienced and passionate Lighting Technicians to join its team on a casual basis. Reporting to the Production & Technical Manager, you will support theatre productions, performances and live events across Crown Melbourne's entertainment venues, delivering strong technical results.

Key responsibilities

• Operate lighting systems and technical show equipment for productions and events.
• Perform lighting console operation, follow spot operation and other show duties.
• Support show installations, setup, programming, testing and pack-down.
• Maintain lighting equipment and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with venue teams, contractors and production stakeholders.
• Ensure all lighting operations comply with safety and venue requirements.

Required profile

• Experience in theatrical lighting, live entertainment or major events.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and organisational skills.
• Able to interpret lighting plots, technical drawings and show requirements.
• Flexible approach and availability to work across performances, events and productions.

Required skills

• Knowledge of lighting control systems including GrandMA3, GrandMA2 and ETC IOS.
