Casual Academic – Bachelor of Screen Media (Arts & Production)

About the role

The School of Arts at Western Sydney University is seeking experienced academics to join its casual teaching community. This role involves delivering lectures, tutorials, workshops and marking for the Bachelor of Screen Media (Arts and Production) program on the Parramatta South campus.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials and workshops for the Bachelor of Screen Media (Arts and Production) program.
• Mark student assessments and provide constructive feedback.
• Contribute to curriculum development and course planning as needed.
• Engage with students and staff to support a collaborative learning environment.

Required profile

• Postgraduate qualification (minimum Master’s degree; PhD or equivalent professional experience preferred).
• Recent and relevant teaching experience at tertiary level or demonstrable teaching capability.
• Expertise in at least one area of Screen Media such as fundamentals, documentary, digital narrative, narrative fiction, episodic, immersive technologies or capstone projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse academic setting.
