Cargo Operations Agent

About the role

Air Canada is seeking a Cargo Operations Agent to support cargo activities across its Australian operations. You will work closely with ground handling agents, warehouse teams, and sales staff to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant handling of air freight.

Key responsibilities

• Manage station ULD inventories and coordinate with Cargo Network Control to secure equipment for flights.
• Implement load plans, optimise space and weight, and liaise with ramp and warehouse teams.
• Monitor data entries, verify shipment and ULD information in cargo and load control systems.
• Maintain compliance with Air Canada safety policies, SOPs, and security standards.
• Handle customer enquiries, irregularities, and operational disruptions for both import and export cargo.
• Oversee replenishment of forms, labels, stationery, and administrative supplies.
• Supervise ULD build‑up for sensitive products (VAL, HUM, AVI) to prevent pilferage or damage.
• Coordinate with GHAs, sales teams, and other stakeholders to maximise space utilisation and resolve issues such as rebooking cargo.
• Participate in regular meetings with ground handling agents and report on performance metrics.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in air freight or cargo operations.
• Strong knowledge of cargo handling procedures, load planning, and safety regulations.
• Eligibility to work in Australia.
• Fluent in English (both oral and written).
