Associate Professor in Biochemical Pharmacology

About the role

We are seeking an Associate Professor in Biochemical Pharmacology to join the School of Health at our Sunshine Coast or Moreton Bay campus. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research and community engagement, shaping the next generation of health professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a high‑impact research programme in biochemical pharmacology, securing competitive grants and mentoring emerging researchers.
• Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in biochemistry, medical biochemistry and advanced pharmacology.
• Supervise Higher Degree by Research (HDR) candidates and guide their scholarly development.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with industry, community organisations and academic collaborators.
• Contribute to the strategic growth and collaborative culture of the School and University.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree in a relevant discipline with a strong record of academic leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to obtain external research funding and produce high‑quality scholarly outputs.
• Experience in supervising HDR students and mentoring early‑career researchers.
• Evidence of impact and recognition within the field of biochemical pharmacology.

• Level D salary range $168,933 – $186,045 per annum plus up to 17 % superannuation.
