Assistant Project Manager - HV Substations

About the role

Eagles Engineers, an entity of CoMade, is an engineering firm offering end-to-end design, procurement, construction, completions and commissioning services. It is looking for an Assistant Project Manager in Melbourne to support the delivery of a major project package alongside an experienced Project Manager. The role covers design, procurement, contracts, project controls and construction activities, from planning through to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in developing and maintaining the package delivery plan, including scope, schedule and budget
• Prepare package status reports for internal leadership and client stakeholders
• Help prepare scopes of work, tender packages and requests for quotation for subcontractors and suppliers
• Coordinate technical queries and design clarifications between the client, design team and construction teams
• Coordinate site inspections, walkdowns and progress verification where required
• Support close-out activities such as as-built documentation, punch lists and handover packages
• Liaise with client representatives, subcontractors and internal teams to resolve day-to-day package issues

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 4+ years of experience in project delivery, contract administration or package/construction coordination, ideally in an engineering or infrastructure environment
• Experience with HV substations

Required skills

• Working knowledge of project controls concepts (cost, schedule, change management)
• Sound understanding of contract administration principles
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams/SharePoint)
