Assistant Manager – Commercial Banking

About the role

As an Assistant Manager in ANZ’s Business & Private Bank, you will work alongside a Relationship Manager to support small and medium‑sized enterprise owners in Rockhampton and surrounding areas. The role offers a clear pathway into commercial banking, with access to modern data tools and strong mentorship.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of each client’s business and financial requirements.
• Provide tailored banking solutions, including account maintenance, product recommendations and referrals.
• Manage a portfolio of SME customers, ensuring compliance with ANZ policies, KYC and AML regulations.
• Coordinate with product partners and internal stakeholders to deliver seamless service.
• Monitor workflow and documentation to uphold risk and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a commercial banking frontline or commercial lending role.
• Demonstrated ability to build and sustain strong customer relationships.
• Understanding of risk management, Know‑Your‑Customer and anti‑money‑laundering requirements.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑centric mindset.
