Utility Service Technician – Battery Storage

About the role

Join Tesla’s Energy team as a Utility Service Technician supporting Megapack battery storage sites in the Collie region. You will work on medium‑ to high‑voltage equipment, troubleshooting, repairing and upgrading utility‑scale battery installations.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair battery storage equipment as directed by the service engineering team.
• Perform complex electro‑mechanical debugging, rework and repairs on medium and high voltage systems.
• Operate hand tools, power tools and LV/MV/HV test equipment for diagnosis.
• Develop and follow best‑practice procedures for maintenance activities.
• Provide daily updates on work completed, issues identified and future timelines.
• Support sites outside the Collie region or internationally when required.
• Collaborate across Powerpack and Megapack utility sites to ensure optimal fleet performance.

Required profile

• Certified Electrician (Cert III+ in Electrical/Electro‑Technology) with a current electrical licence.
• Minimum 5 years of experience, including at least 3 years in the utility sector.
• HV switching certification and experience.
• Ability to interpret detailed documentation, electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings.
• Strong computer proficiency with proprietary and third‑party OEM software.
• Valid driver’s licence, reliable, initiative‑driven and quality‑focused.
• Willingness to work outdoors and on‑call at irregular hours.
