Tax Accountant – Business Advisory

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Tax Accountant to join our boutique advisory practice in Cronulla. The role offers a broad remit with high ownership, allowing you to work with a diverse portfolio of individual and business clients while delivering tax compliance, advisory and business support services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and lodge income tax returns for individuals, sole traders, partnerships, trusts, companies and SMSFs.
• Manage BAS, IAS, PAYG instalments and other ATO reporting obligations.
• Provide tax planning and advisory services including CGT, trust distributions, entity structuring and Division 7A matters.
• Handle ATO correspondence, amendments, objections, audits and payment arrangements.
• Support clients with bookkeeping and cloud accounting software such as Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication.
• Assist with onboarding new clients and contribute to practice improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Commerce or Business with a major in Accounting or Taxation.
• Working towards or holding membership with CA ANZ, CPA Australia or IPA.
• 2–4 years of tax compliance experience in a public practice or registered tax agent environment.
• Strong knowledge of Australian tax legislation (income tax, GST, FBT, superannuation).
• Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
