About the role
The Department of Health Tasmania is seeking a Specialist Medical Practitioner to join the Alcohol and Drug Service North team in Launceston. This permanent, full‑time position supports both inpatient and outpatient services, delivering high‑quality care for individuals with alcohol and drug issues and their families.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary team and key stakeholders to maintain the effectiveness of the public and private sector Pharmacotherapy Program.
- Exercise independent clinical judgement in the assessment, treatment, and management of patients.
- Uphold ethical standards and act with integrity in all professional activities.
- Contribute to clinical governance under the direction of the Statewide Specialty Director ADS.
Required profile
- Medical qualification with registration to practice in Australia.
- Experience in addiction medicine or related fields.
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating within a team.
- Commitment to ethical practice and continuous improvement.
