Service Technician – Electric Vehicles

About the role

Join BYD Five Dock’s fast‑growing service team and work on cutting‑edge electric vehicles. You will perform maintenance and repairs in a modern workshop while supporting the transition to sustainable transport in Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on BYD EVs following manufacturer guidelines.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Conduct inspections, road tests, and fault‑finding procedures.
• Complete accurate service documentation and record‑keeping.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant workshop environment.
• Collaborate with service advisors and workshop staff to ensure timely service delivery.

Required profile

• Fully qualified automotive mechanic (Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent).
• Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities.
• Valid Australian driver’s licence.
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
• Good communication skills and a team‑player mindset.

Required skills

• Vehicle diagnostics using specialised equipment.
• Mechanical repair of light‑vehicle systems.
• Electrical system troubleshooting (EV experience a plus).
