Senior Project Manager – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Glenorchy City Council is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the planning, governance and delivery of complex capital works that support a growing community. You will oversee a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects from concept through to completion, ensuring they meet safety, quality, budget and timeline expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of streetscape, bridge, boardwalk, lighting and other community infrastructure projects.
• Ensure projects align with Council’s strategic objectives, statutory requirements and community expectations.
• Oversee contract management, procurement and negotiation activities.
• Develop and monitor project budgets, financial reporting and risk registers.
• Lead stakeholder engagement, particularly with community groups and senior officials.
• Implement robust safety, quality and risk management processes.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Proven track record delivering complex infrastructure or capital works projects end‑to‑end in a public or similar environment.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience in financial management, budgeting and reporting.
• Ability to obtain a Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP); a current driver’s licence is desirable.
