Senior Contract Administrator – Defence Infrastructure Project

About the role

This senior commercial position supports a major defence infrastructure project in Darwin. You will work closely with the Project Manager and commercial leadership to manage contract administration, financial control, and commercial risk throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Administer head contracts and subcontract agreements in line with contractual and statutory requirements.
• Lead subcontract procurement, including tender preparation, evaluation, negotiation and execution.
• Manage variations, progress and delay claims, and all contractual correspondence.
• Monitor cost control, cash flow, value recovery and overall commercial performance.
• Prepare and review monthly forecasts, cost reports and commercial risk assessments.
• Issue contractual notices accurately and within required timeframes.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors, consultants and legal advisers as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years’ construction experience, including at least 5 years as a Contract Administrator on large projects.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, contract administration and commercial risk management.
• Proven ability to administer head contracts and subcontract packages.
• Experience managing budgets, forecasts, cost‑to‑complete and cash flow.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
