About the role
This position is for a proactive Category Specialist to join the Commercial team of a mid‑tier mining client in Perth. You will work closely with senior leadership, including the C‑suite, and receive mentoring to develop your procurement career. The role combines strategic category planning with hands‑on contract and supplier management.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver end‑to‑end procurement category strategies.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across Mining, Maintenance, Processing, and Projects.
- Support contract management and supplier engagement activities.
- Collaborate with Finance and Accounts Payable to support the commercial pipeline.
- Ensure procurement activities align with business objectives and governance frameworks.
Required profile
- Proven experience in procurement or category management within the mining industry.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Organised, adaptable, and capable of managing competing priorities.
- Commercially minded with a collaborative, team‑focused approach.
