Plant Fitter

About the role

Queensland Rail is seeking a Plant Fitter to join its Toowoomba depot team. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of resurfacing machines, earth‑moving equipment, specialised rail vehicles and other plant across regional Queensland.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on all assigned plant and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair breakdowns efficiently to maximise machine availability.
• Ensure all work complies with Queensland Rail policies, safe work procedures and relevant legislation.
• Prepare and submit maintenance documentation, reports and modification records.

Required profile

• Hold a Mechanical Trade Certificate 3A (Mechanic) or be a qualified Electrician Fitter.
• Current manual driver’s licence.
• Willingness and ability to travel throughout regional Queensland.

• Permanent position with a base salary of $85,000 AUD (up to ~ $100,000 AUD including overtime and penalties).
