Part-Time Registered Nurse – Hospital in the Home

About the role

Western Health is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join the Hospital in the Home (HITH) service at Footscray Hospital on a part‑time, ongoing basis. The role involves delivering acute nursing care to patients in their own homes while collaborating closely with the HITH medical team and the treating specialty unit.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely and appropriate acute nursing care to patients in their place of residence.
• Educate patients and their families about the care plan and required treatments.
• Liaise with treating teams to report changes in patient condition.
• Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an acute care setting.
• Current Victorian driver’s licence.
• Venepuncture and peripheral cannulation experience.
• Competence with central venous access devices.
• Experience with complex wound dressings.
• Advanced clinical assessment skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
