Mechanical Engineer – Product CAD & Geometry

About the role

MAKO is developing innovative surface technologies to improve aircraft fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. As a Mechanical Engineer (Product), you will own all CAD and geometry work within the Product Engineering team, creating accurate aircraft surface models and manufacturing drawings that feed into design, CFD, and production processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all CAD activities, including 3D scanning, surface modelling, and creation of product engineering drawings for Flightfilm manufacturing.
• Develop and maintain a controlled library of CAD models and engineering drawings supporting product development, certification, and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with Certification, Quality, Manufacturing, and Installation teams to ensure drawings meet regulatory, tolerancing (GD&T), and practical requirements.
• Define and improve CAD workflows, drawing standards, and document‑control practices to enable scaling.
• Communicate geometry intent clearly across engineering, certification, and manufacturing functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software for 3D modelling and surface creation.
• Experience with 3D scanning and surface modelling techniques.
• Knowledge of GD&T and drawing standards.
• Ability to manage controlled libraries of engineering drawings and documentation.
• Familiarity with CFD‑ready geometry and product engineering drawing production.
