Mechanical Engineer – Mining & Industrial

About the role

Trang Imagineering is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its Orange, NSW office. The role involves hands‑on engineering across mining, agriculture and heavy‑industry projects, from design through to fabrication and field verification.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs and detailed drafting using 3D CAD tools.
• Perform Finite Element Analysis and other engineering calculations.
• Carry out structural and mechanical verification against standards such as AS4100 and AS3990.
• Conduct site inspections, field measurements and produce fabrication‑ready workshop drawings.
• Support product development, prototyping and the design of equipment such as API650 tanks, lifting systems and agricultural machinery.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified Mechanical Engineer.
• Experience with 3D CAD software and practical understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects and communicate effectively.
• Interest in mining, heavy industry, machinery or agricultural equipment.
• Experience with FEA, AS4100/AS3990, lifting equipment, tanks or mobile plant is highly regarded.
