Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a sharp, commercially‑minded Legal Counsel to serve as the primary in‑house legal resource for our fast‑growing investment platform. Reporting to the COO, you will support investment operations, fund structuring and regulatory compliance across a range of frontier sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate fund documents such as Trust Deeds, Manager Agreements, Subscription Agreements and SPV documentation.
• Provide advice on Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) obligations and ASIC regulatory requirements.
• Support KYC/KYB and AML/CTF compliance frameworks.
• Liaise with external counsel, regulators and counterparties’ legal teams.
• Offer legal guidance on deal structuring, investor agreements and secondary transactions.
• Maintain and improve standard document templates and legal processes.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with 4–8 years of experience in a law firm or in‑house role.
• Experience in funds management, financial services or capital markets law.
• Practical knowledge of SPV or managed‑fund structuring is a strong advantage.
• Ability to work quickly while balancing legal rigour with commercial pragmatism.
• Self‑starter capable of operating independently in a lean, remote team.
