Leading Hand – Civil Construction

About the role

JK Williams is seeking experienced civil construction professionals to step into a Leading Hand position. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will coordinate daily site activities, lead crews, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily site activities and work crews.
• Support project delivery in line with program and budget requirements.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture on site.
• Supervise subcontractors and site personnel.
• Monitor quality outcomes and project specifications.
• Assist with planning, resource allocation and site documentation.
• Identify and resolve site issues proactively.
• Mentor and develop team members through coaching and leadership.
• Maintain positive working relationships with clients, stakeholders and project teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in civil construction and earthmoving projects.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Current Construction White Card.
• Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and project documentation.
• Sound understanding of WHS and environmental requirements.
• Proactive, hands‑on approach to leadership.
