Junior Social Media Manager (Freelance)

About the role

We are looking for a junior‑level Social Media Manager on a freelance basis to grow the online presence of a children’s early‑literacy reading scheme. The role focuses on engaging parents, teachers and homeschooling families through playful storytelling and visual content on Instagram and Facebook.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a content strategy for Instagram and Facebook, with a strong emphasis on Reels and short‑form videos.
• Create illustrated posts, graphics and short videos that reflect the brand’s educational and playful identity.
• Write engaging, age‑appropriate captions and copy that resonate with parents, educators and children.
• Monitor audience growth, respond to comments and foster community interaction.
• Manage content production within a modest initial budget.

Required profile

• Passion for early childhood education and experience with parenting or educational audiences.
• Warm, creative communication style and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Flexible, reliable and comfortable with remote freelance work.

Required skills

• Proven experience managing social media for children’s, parenting or educational brands.
• Strong knowledge of Instagram and Facebook, including Reels and short‑form video formats.
• Excellent storytelling and visual content creation abilities.
• Ability to write engaging, age‑appropriate captions.
• Familiarity with audience growth strategies for parents and educators.
